GCP Engines Sport Mod presented by Tomahawk Race Car Preview
Free General Admission Night will be a night to showcase the GCP Engines Sport Mod division, a division that has seen excellent car counts and incredible racing all season long. On this night, the class will time trial for the first time ever and will run the normal Late Model format with the top 6 qualifiers competing in the dash race while everyone else will run in heat races to set the lineup for the nights 15 lap feature.
September 28th will also be the season championship race for the Sport Mod class to determine who will be the 2013 track champion. Three drivers are in the hunt for the championship coming down to September 28th. Danny Hamilton currently leads the point standings with Eric Dennison 15 points behind and Colten Wright 65 points behind. Any one of those drivers could walk away with the championship on Friday. Here are the clinching scenarios for each driver:
Danny Hamilton clinches by finishing in front of Eric Dennison and Colten Wright, or by finishing no worse than 3 positions behind Dennison and 13 positions behind Colten Wright.
Eric Dennison clinches by finishing 4 positi…ons ahead of Danny Hamilton and 10 positions ahead of Colten Wright.
Colten Wright clinches by finishing 14 positions ahead of Danny Hamilton and 11 positions ahead of Eric Dennison.
Pure Stock Preview
2013 track champion Barry Brisker will be looking to continue his perfect record in the Pure Stock division on September 28th. The last few races held has seen an increased car count in the Pure Stock class and some incredible racing. The track is committed to this track for 2014 and is expecting to see some additional cars competing in the class on September 28th. The Pure Stocks will also qualify on September 28th. Race fans should be in for a great show from the Pure Stocks on September 28th.
Stock 4 cylinder Preview
For only the second time in the SOS modern-era, stock 4 cylinders will take to the track on September 28th. The class will compete under the Pure Stock pay scale. The more cars that are in attendance, the higher the purse will be. Cars that are legal in the Crazy Compact division at Brushcreek, Moler, and Jackson and 4 cylinder division at 201, Willard, 191, and 35 Raceway will all be legal to compete in the class. No tube framed cars will not be allowed to compete. Anybody with questions regarding the legality of their car can email the track at email@example.com. 4 cylinders always put on a good show and are expecting to put on good racing on this night.
Ohio Valley Roofers Legends Cars Series Preview
The OVR Legends Car Series will take to the high banks of SOS on September 28th for the second time in 2013. The class competed at the track back on April 26th and put on an absolutely incredible show. These cars run right together and put on some of the closest racing action that you will see on dirt. Jerren Perdue won the first show back in April.
Enduros have quickly became one of the most popular classes at SOS. The class features wild and wacky racing and an affordable way for people to go from the stands to the track. Even experienced racers talk about the Enduro class being the class that is the most fun to race in. Car counts have been between 15-20 for all Enduros this season. With the long break between events allowing people time to get cars ready to run in the class, we are expecting this Enduro event to be the largest up to this point of the season.
