WHEELERSBURG, OH-The “Free General Admission Night” set for this Saturday, September 28th is truly an event for the race fans.  For the first time in the speedways 45+ year history, the Southern Ohio Speedway will be offering completely FREE general admission for a race night.  There’s no parking fees and no gimmicks, race fans will be permitted into the general admission area FREE of charge to watch an exciting racing program that features GCP Engines Sport Mods presented by Tomahawk Race Cars, Pure Stocks, 4 cylinders, Ohio Valley Roofing Legends Car Series, and Enduros.

With 100% FREE general admission this Saturday, the speedway is challenging race fans to help us pack the grandstands to capacity this Saturday.  We encourage each race fan to invite at least one person they know to come and check out the racing action this Saturday FREE of charge.  We all know people who have never been to a dirt track before, this Saturday is the perfect opportunity to get them to come out to the track and see what dirt track racing is all about.

Fans in attendance on Saturday will be in for a great show as the closest points battle in the modern-era will come to a conclusion on Saturday in the Sport Mod division.  Three drivers could mathematically walk away with the track championship at the end of Saturday’s races.  Danny Hamilton currently leads last years track champion Eric Dennison by 15 points and 15 year old sensation Colten Wright by 65 points.  Hamilton clinches by finishing in front of Dennison and Wright or by finishing no worse than 3 positions behind Dennison and 13 positions behind Wright.  Dennison clinches by finishing 4 positions ahead of Hamilton and 10 positions ahead of Wright.  Wright can clinch by finishing 14 positions ahead of Hamilton and 11 positions ahead of Dennison.

In addition to the incredible action expected in the Sport Mods, fans will see great shows in the Pure Stock, 4 cylinder, and Enduro classes as well.  While the car count hasn’t been the strongest as the class is in the growing process, the Pure Stock class has seen exciting racing all year long.  The 4 cylinders have only raced at SOS once in the modern-era but always put on a great show.  The Enduros are always wild and wacky and with a six week layoff since the last Enduro, this Saturday’s Enduro is expected to be the largest of the year.

Another big part of the show on Saturday will be the return of the 50/50.  If the grandstand is packed on Saturday, it could no doubt be the largest cash prize ever given during a 50/50 at SOS.  In addition to the cash prize, we will also have multiple winners of t-shirts, hats, and a free ticket to next week’s “5th Annual Black Jack & Farley Boggs Memorial.”

Gates will open at 4:00 pm on Saturday with hot laps starting the nights action at 6:00 pm.  General admission is FREE for all ages while pit passes are $25 (ages 13 and up), $15 (ages 7-12), and free (ages 6 and under).   With the earlier start time, SOS officials are planning on having the entire show completed by 9:00 pm Saturday.  For more information visit www.southernohiospeedway.com.
